Where Are All The Papers In Counterfeit Island

Tucumán in Buenos Aires Book Fair

Rogelio Ramos Signes at the booth of Tucumán the International Book Fair

Complicity with the reader. This and other seasonings are essential for the functioning short story. According to the writer Rogelio Ramos Signes, which has two titles in this edition of the Book Fair, the brevity of the text requires of the reader some prior knowledge. Below is an exchange with the poet born in San Juan, who lives in Tucumán since 1972, the author of numerous titles, some of which have been translated into French and English. Ramos Signes
present the book of micro all the walking this Sunday May 1st, 19.30, stand in Tucumán (3017 Ochre Pavilion of La Rural). In addition, on Wednesday 4 May at 20.15, will present a book of poetry The House of Tea.

Is it correct to interpret the book's title refers to the incorporation of speech and idioms tucumanos?

Yes, all that walking refers to the incorporation of speech of Argentines. Do not think there tucumanos idioms in this book (at least significantly), as the speech of Argentines has consolidated considerably in recent years and especially through the mass media. Copy without realizing, we expanded our way of speaking, the same way, and have a vast array to choose what we like.

recognizes What literary influences on his writing?

If we are dealing with short texts all the walking, my literary influences are many and varied as any micro-stories, not just relate to the literature. Do not forget that the short story has a strong component of parody, so it can influence not only from other writers but also from life itself. The big names, of course (Monterroso, Valenzuela, Pacheco, Díez, Lagmanovich, Jimenez Eman, Shua) are always in our more immediate references.

En lo que se refiere the short story, however, try to talk about other things that have little to do with the autobiographical.

Besides its brevity, what are the other landmark features of the short story?

The short story is a short text, which by its very brevity requires ongoing complicity of the reader. This brevity also requires the reader to know, or intuit what is being talked about, because there was no room for explanations intertextuality needs to piecework. That is why the short story there are so many references to Biblical stories, or Don Quixote, or The Thousand and One Nights, or to movies or situations known to all, or almost all. The writer requires the reader is there with all their knowledge available to fill the gaps that can not treat the short story. Popular culture, that which comes to us without us realizing it, is essential to enjoy this brief literary genre.

How young writers are turning narrative for this phenomenon?

are turning in large part because it is a genre that somehow corresponds to the fast times we are living. The need to solve an idea with a few words on the short story is its most consistent. A notice that each time you dictate a workshop or organize lectures in schools, students begin writing immediately. Of course we must not confuse any short text with a short story as the genre requires a number of conditions, in terms of presentation, development and auction, but could reduce them to two, already in its own name: to be brief ( from there it's "micro") and that tell something.
